Welcome Home Gucci Mane

Rapper, GUCCI MANE's thrilled fans turned out in the hundreds to watch the hop-hop star’s homecoming concert. The star - real name Radric Davis - was ordered to carry out 600 hours of unpaid work when he was found guilty of hitting a concert promoter with a pool cue in 2005. He was jailed in September 2008 after he was found to have carried out just 25 hours of the sentence. But despite the star’s troubled past, rap fans showed their support by attending a concert put together by Hotlanta's 2nd hottest radio station, Hot 107.9 (V-103 is the first hottest) after his release from prison on Saturday (14Mar09). Davis still has two-and-a-half years of probation and will have to complete 600 hours of community service. Let's hope he does his community service this time so he won't have to go back. WELCOME HOME!!!

Porsche Foxx Denies Setting Fire...

Via WSBTV- Atlanta -- Former Atlanta radio personality Porsche Foxx denied being at the scene of a condo fire after being named as a "person of interest" in the investigation into the cause of that fire.

"I absolutely, positively, without a question, don't know anything about this or have anything to do with any fire," Foxx said at a Tuesday afternoon press conference.

The fire started in the Mallory Park Townhomes in the 100 block of Bagby Court in Union City about 2:30 a.m. One unit was destroyed and two others suffered heavy damage. One resident suffered second-degree burns. Keith Padgett, chief fire marshal for the Fulton County Fire Department named Foxx, whose real name is Stephanie Calhoun, and Tony Matthews as "persons of interest" in the case.

“These are not suspects, they’re just people we would like to speak with,” said Padgett.

Mary Matthews, the mother of Tony Matthews, was the woman burned in the fire and told neighbors Foxx set the fire. A condo resident told WSB-TV that Mary Matthews knocked on her door and said "That woman set the fire," referring to Foxx.

At the news conference Foxx denied she was at the condo at the time of the fire. She claimed she spent the day at home, in bed with her dog. Padgett said there were reliable witnesses who identified Foxx and placed her at the scene of the fire. Foxx also denied any relationship with Tony Matthews.

Cyrus Elliot said he heard people outside his bedroom window, looked to see another unit on fire and began knocking on neighbor's doors to get them out.

"We had one adult female transported from the scene with second-degree burns to her left arm," said Keith Padgett, Fulton County fire marshal.

The injured woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

In November Foxx was fired from radio station V-103 for the second time in four years.
Foxx was a popular afternoon jock at V-103 until the station fired her after a very public DUI arrest in late 2004. She pleaded guilty to the charge in summer 2005, receiving community service, probation and a stint in alcohol rehab. She was rehired in late 2007.
Foxx’s home off Campbellton Road in south Fulton was destroyed by a fire in 2005. The cause of that fire was listed as an unattended candle.
