Just two years into the storybook marriage of actress Lisa-Raye McCoy-Misick and Dr. Michael Misick, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), sources are saying that the First Couple may be headed for divorce!
In April of this year, Misick was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a visit to the couple's home in Tuks and Caicos. It was reported that the female visitor in question was a friend of Lisa-Raye’s. Soon after the allegations were made, the premier issued a televised statement denying the charges.
“A few days ago, an American female, after leaving the Turks and Caicos Islands, made a false report to law enforcement officials in the United States that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted by me,” Misick had said in the release, adding: “I strongly and categorically deny these false allegations.”
Although Misick denied the charges, reports from other media sources stated that Misick admitted there was consensual sexual contact. Investigations in the case are ongoing. Lisa-Raye, a frequent member of men's magazines "sexiest women" lists, met Dr. Misick at the TBS Trumpet Awards in Atlanta, GA in 2004. The couple's fairytale wedding took place on Turks and Caicos island resort with many prominent celebrity and political guests in attendance. Rumors of infidelity have plagued the couple’s two-year marriage, but have never been confirmed. Lisa-Raye told Caribbean Net News on Tuesday, "I understand the interest my fellow Turks and Caicos Islanders have in this matter. But I hope they will understand that I have no comment to make at this time."
