Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison and fined up to $5 million on tax evasion charges on Thursday. It was the maximum sentence possible under federal sentencing guidelines. He didn’t have to turn himself in immediately. The judge ruled he could surrender at a later date. “The law is very clear: People must pay their taxes,” IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman said.
